Changelings

Changelings is a body of work that moves forward by reaching backward—taking what already exists and recontextualizing it into something uncannily new. Fragment collages layer photographs, scans of my paintings and weavings, and digital drawing into compositions that refuse to resolve. Each layer remains visible, a stratum of its own origin. Wearable art reclaims old watercolors I've outgrown—experiments, exercises, styles that no longer feel like mine—cutting them into pendants that leave the wall and begin again on the body. Color Warping, still in early development, pushes the logic further: digital illustrations colored by warped images of my own paintings, the source bent but still traceable. Across all three, the impulse is the same—nothing is thrown away, nothing is too precious to reuse. A painting that no longer represents me still holds moments worth saving.
